TAI MONG TSAI (SITE NO. 2)

Public BBQ

Tai Mong Tsai Site No. 2 offers something genuinely different from the typical Australian barbecue experience - a dramatic Hong Kong coastal setting where bushwalking trails, pristine beaches, and traditional barbecue culture intersect. The location provides access to diverse terrain including seaside areas, hills, and established walking tracks that reward adventurous visitors with spectacular scenery. While the site lacks parking and toilet facilities, its proximity to public transport and natural beauty compensates for these practical limitations. The mosquito population can be challenging during certain seasons, and the absence of lighting makes evening visits inadvisable. Despite these constraints, the combination of bushland exploration, coastal access, and traditional barbecue facilities creates an experience that's genuinely unique. For those willing to plan around its limitations, it offers authentic outdoor recreation that's increasingly rare near urban centres.
